BBDC GENERAL INFORMATION

 

 

Class Descriptions

 

 

Ballet	Learn strong ballet technique, classical steps, proper body alignment and vocabulary. This style is fundamental to all serious dancers.
Ballet/Jazz	This class consists of ½ hour of Ballet and ½ hour of Jazz.
Ballet/Tap	This class consists of ½ hour of Ballet and ½ hour of Tap.
Cheerdance	Learn the fundamentals of cheerleading such as arm placement, leaps, tumbling & stunting. Combine that with fast fun music and formation changes and students are sure to have a good time in class.
Hip-Hop	Hip-Hop is a fusion of all dance styles. Learn ‘old school’ and ‘new school’ moves to fast paced hip-hop music.
Jazz	Learn strong jazz technique to popular music. This class focuses on flexibility, turns, leaps, and proper use of your core to improve all areas of dance.
Jazz/Tumble	This class consists of ½ hour of Jazz and ½ hour of Tumbling.
Lyrical	This class encompasses the use of balance, flexibility, and control utilizing the lyrics and feeling of the music.
Modern	Learn interpretive dance using a contemporary/modern style. This class incorporates balance, control, and extension moves.
Cheer Dance	Hair in a ponytail, tank top, stretchy jazz pants, and white sneakers
Musical Theatre	Be a part of the theatre production TBA. This includes acting, dancing & singing. Auditions TBA.
Pre-Ballet	Learn the basics of ballet while also working on improving motor skills, flexibility and music recognition.
Tap	Learn musical phrasing and tap technique.
Tumbling	Learn to tumble using controlled moves such as handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, limbers, etc. Classes contain gymnastic passes, flexibility moves, and dance choreography.
Voice	Learn the fundamentals of voice production, posture, breathing and diction to perfect your pitch.
Yoga	Through gentle stretching and supporting postures learn to improve flexibility and strengthen muscles. This class incorporates centering and focusing techniques in a relaxing atmosphere.

   

 

Class Break-Down

  

Recreational Level:

• Beginner/Intermediate Levels
• Designed for students taking 1-3 classes
• Classes are in the “white” blocks on the schedule and are categorized by age

 

Team Level:

• Intermediate Levels
• Designed for students taking 4+ classes
• Classes are in “colored” blocks on the schedule and are categorized by grade
• All team jazz classes will compete

 

Core Level:

• Advanced/Pre-Professional
• Students are required to take a minimum of 6 hours
• Must audition or be recommended into the program
• All core jazz classes compete

Refund Policy

 

BBDC has a NO REFUND policy. If a student wishes to drop a class within the first two weeks of semester one, we will credit the account.  If a student wishes to switch classes within the first two weeks they may do so if there is room available in the class they want to switch to.  If a student drops a class or switches after the first two weeks, a credit will NOT be given.

Absence Policy

 

Core students are only allowed to miss 3 classes per semester.  We recommend that team and recreational students also try not to miss more than three classes because it will affect their ability to keep up.

Class Add/Drop

 

Add: To add a class, please check with the front desk for availability.

 

Drop: A drop form must be submitted to the front desk or the account will be charged for the next semester.  Classes will not be refunded but may be credited if a class is dropped within the first two weeks of semester one.

Costumes 

 

Costume forms will be handed out at the beginning of October.  All forms are due by November 2^nd.  Any form turned in after November 2^nd will be charged $25.00 late fee.  Costumes are $65.00-70.00 and will be handed out one month prior to the recital.  BBDC cannot guarantee any costume that is ordered after November 15^th.

Snow Policy

 

If Natick Public Schools are closed due to snow, the studio is closed as well.  If a storm begins after school hours, please check our website - we will update it if we're closing.

Private Lessons

 

Private lessons may be arranged for children and adults.  Many of our instructors teach a variety of styles, so even if your favorite style isn’t offered in our program, we may have an instructor  that can accommodate you.  BBDC is also happy to do private and semi-private dance lessons for weddings.  Private lessons are $65 per hour and should be booked and paid for at the front office.

Lost & Found

 

BBDC’s lost and found is located in the main building in the hallway.  The drawers in the first two benches contain lost clothes.  The third bench contains lost shoes.  Lost and found will be cleaned out on the first of every month and its contents will be donated to charity.

        Fall Hours:       Monday-Thursday: 3:00-8:00 pm

                                  Closed the same holidays as BBDC
