BBDC GENERAL INFORMATION

Class Descriptions
Ballet	Learn strong ballet technique, classical steps, proper body alignment and vocabulary. This style is fundamental to all serious dancers.
Ballet/Jazz	This class consists of ½ hour of Ballet and ½ hour of Jazz.
Leaps, Turns & Flexibility	This is a technique class designed for students in team or pre-core to improve tricks and skills needed to get into the core program.
Hip-Hop	Hip-Hop is a fusion of all dance styles. Learn ‘old school’ and ‘new school’ moves to fast paced, age appropriate hip-hop music.
Jazz	Learn strong jazz technique to popular music. This class focuses on flexibility, turns, leaps, and proper use of your core to improve all areas of dance.
Jazz/Modern	This class consists of ½ hour of Jazz and ½ hour of Modern.
Lyrical	This class encompasses the use of balance, flexibility, and control utilizing the lyrics and feeling of the music.
Modern	Learn interpretive dance using a contemporary/ modern style. This class incorporates balance, control, and extension moves.
Musical Theatre	This NEW Muscial Theatre class includes voice, theatre and dance lessons to put on a Production number in competition. See the Musical tab for details.
Pre-Ballet	Learn the basics of ballet while also working on improving motor skills, flexibility and music recognition.
Tap	Learn musical phrasing and tap technique.
Tumble	Learn to tumble using controlled moves such as handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, limbers, etc. Classes contain gymnastic passes, flexibility moves, and dance choreography.

Class Break-Down

Recreational Level:

Beginner/Intermediate Level
Designed for students taking 1-3 classes
Open enrollment
Classes are in the “white” blocks on the schedule and are categorized by age
A student's age is determined by how old they are as of the first day of class.
No exceptions.
All recreational classes perform in the May Recital (each class requires one costume)

Team Level:

Intermediate Level
Designed for students taking 4+ classes a week
Classes are in “colored” blocks on the schedule and are categorized by grade
Must audition to enroll in the program
All team jazz classes will compete
Team members have the opportunity to do additional competition dances
Team members have the opportunity to participate in the Masters Club
All Team classes perform in the May Recital (each class requires one costume)

Core Level:

Advanced/Pre-Professional
Students are required to take a minimum of 6-8 hours
Must audition to enroll in the program
All core jazz classes, one TBD class, and a combined production of cores will compete
All Core classes perform in the May Recital (each class requires one costume, except for strictly technique classes)
Core students have the opportunity to do additional competition dances
Core students have the opportunity to enroll in the Masters Club

Refund Policy

BBDC has a NO REFUND policy. If a student wishes to drop a class within the first two weeks of semester one, we will credit the account. If a student wishes to switch classes within the first two weeks they may do so if there is room available in the class they want to switch to. If a student drops a class or switches after the first two weeks, a credit will NOT be given.

Absence Policy

Core students are only allowed to miss 3 classes per semester and Team students are only allowed to miss 4. We recommend that recreational students also try not to miss more than three classes because it will affect their ability to keep up.

Class Add/Drop

Add: To add a class, please check with the front desk for availability.

Drop: A drop form must be submitted to the front desk or the account will be charged for the next semester. Classes will not be refunded but may be credited if a class is dropped within the first two weeks of semester one.

Costumes

Costume forms will be handed out at the beginning of October. All forms are due by November 1^st. Any form turned in after November 1^st will be charged $25 late fee. Costumes are $65 for Child XS-Child L, and $70 for Child XL-Adult L. Costumes will be handed out after April vacation. If there is an outstanding balance on an account, costumes will be held until the balance is settled. BBDC cannot guarantee any costume that is ordered after November 15^th.

Snow Policy

If Natick Public Schools are closed due to snow, the studio is closed as well. If a storm begins after school hours, please check our website - we will update it if we're closing.

Private Lessons

Private lessons may be arranged for children and adults. Many of our instructors teach a variety of styles, so even if your favorite style isn’t offered in our program, we may have an instructor that can accommodate you. BBDC is also happy to do private and semi-private dance lessons for weddings. Private lessons are $65 per hour and should be booked and paid for at the front office.

Lost & Found

BBDC’s lost and found is located in the main building in the hallway. The drawers in the first two benches contain lost clothes. The third bench contains lost shoes. Lost and found will be cleaned out periodically and its contents will be donated to charity.

Location: 106 Mechanic Street (in the brick building next to BBDC)

Spring Hours: Monday-Thursday: 3:00-8:00 pm

Saturday: 9:00-1:00 pm

Tap	Jazz pants or shorts, fitted tank top/t-shirt, caramel Teleton Flexmaster tap shoes (student tie tap shoe for purple tap & under), hair pulled back(student tie tap shoe for purple tap & under), hair pulled back
